CCTV Introduction: What is CCTV?
First of all I will like to welcome you to this course from StopLearn. I understand you are interested in CCTV and you want to learn how to install CCTV. Before we begin and proceed into the details of CCTV, we must introduce this course and we are going to begin by asking:
What is CCTV?
CCTV is an acronym for Close Circuit Television. But as the name implies, the Television system of CCTV is not publicly distributed but it is closely monitored by someone or a team usually for surveillance or security purposes.
So CCTV is that camera you see placed in strategic places in firms like banking halls and offices. Now let’s look at the application of CCTVs
- Monitoring road traffic
- Surveillance in high security areas like in banks and sites vulnerable to attacks
- Maintaining perimeter security in medium- to high-secure areas and installations.
- Overseeing locations that would be hazardous to a human, for example, highly radioactive or toxic industrial environments.
- Building and grounds security.
Now watch a visual demonstration of CCTV basics before you can complete this course.
